A leading UK bank is seeking a Financial Intelligence Unit Analyst to manage money laundering and terrorist financing risk. The ideal candidate will have financial crime analysis experience and be able to convert indicators into SQL queries. You will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets, providing actionable intelligence recommendations, and establishing strong stakeholder relationships. Through analysis and investigation, the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) develops Metro Bank's capability for effectively managing money laundering and terrorist financing risk.
Using extensive previous financial crime and data analysis experience, the Financial Intelligence Unit Analyst's identify and analyse MI, customer data and activity, and financial material in an highly objective and strategic manner, to provide and own intelligence-based recommendations that leads operational direction for the FIU and other stakeholders.
The desirable candidate will be a financial crime analyst who is able to convert indicators, red flags and typologies into actionable SQL queries across complex customer and transactional datasets. As well as being a proactive trend/threat identifier, who can shape both tactical and strategic intelligence to guide FIU resources and priorities, the analyst will have strong stakeholder communication and management skills and can present advanced analytical findings to non-technical audiences with clarity and impact.
