Santander UK is looking for a Financial Crime Assurance Manager based out of Glasgow Manchester or Milton Keynes .

The Compliance & Non-Financial Risk (CNFR) function has a key role in helping Santander UK to manage and minimise its exposure to conduct and regulatory risk. The role of the Compliance Monitoring & Testing team is to help the business in ensuring that they protect the best interests of our customers that they maintain a high level of integrity in complying with the requirements of the FCA or other regulators whilst remaining commercial.

The Monitoring and Testing Manager will be responsible for leading the design and execution of Compliance Monitoring (CM) reviews which assess and provide assurance over the effectiveness of the banks systems and controls in delivering good customer outcomes and managing non-financial conduct and regulatory risks across retail business and corporate banking.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading the planning and execution of CM to assess the effectiveness of the banks systems and controls to deliver good customer outcomes and manage non-financial conduct and regulatory risks.
  • Managing review teams ensuring full accountability for scoping testing and reporting considering FCA and other consumer-focused regulatory requirements.
  • Recommending and overseeing the execution of appropriate and timely actions to enhance control frameworks and improve customer outcomes.
  • Producing high-quality reports which communicate findings risks and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Utilising effective stakeholder management and leadership including formal stakeholder engagement and management at all levels of the business.
  • Supporting the development and ongoing maintenance of the risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan and associated methodology.

Required Professional Experience
  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end risk-based compliance reviews focusing on non-financial conduct and regulatory risks including planning testing and reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework of the UK financial services industry the political and economic environment and industry trends and best practice across retail and commercial banking.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to develop risk management strategies and processes.
  • Excellent understanding of UK regulatory requirements across non-financial Risk including AML ABC FoTE Sanctions etc.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate and communicate complex issues.
Nice to have
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills enabling effective collaboration across teams and functions at a senior level.
  • A pro-active detail-oriented approach to work ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in assessments.
  • Excellent project and time management skills effective at prioritising and leading others.

Education

ICA Diploma or similar (Preferred but not essential)
