Job summary

A leading recruitment service provider is seeking a Financial Controller to support financial management within their client's Real Estate division. The role involves ensuring timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards (including IFRS 16), and providing commercial support for real estate projects. Ideal candidates will have over 5 years in a similar role, with strong knowledge of real estate accounting and previous SAP experience preferred. Position is hybrid, with travel to Denmark once a month.

Job Title: Financial Controller - Real Estate

Location: Can be based at either Camberley or Lincoln (3 days per week in office, 2 days from home)

Travel: Please note, travel once a month to Denmark is required for this position

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services are currently seeking a Financial Controller to support our client's Danish operations in commercial and financial management within their Real Estate division. You will be responsible for supporting all commercial/financial related tasks for Denmark, enabling a complete and transparent analysis of the Real Estate business, and liaising with the local business. The Danish real estate portfolio covers 400,000 m2 with an estimated cost base of € 90\'0. You'll fit right in if you're open to challenges, have a team spirit, and like to work proactively.

How You\'ll Make an Impact

• Ensure timely and accurate books and records, including the recording of appropriate systems (compliance with Financial Reporting Guidelines).
• Support with IFRS 16 and implementation/alignment of guidelines and principles, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Budgeting/Forecasting and reporting at a country level.
• Partner with the Technical Project Manager to ensure commercial execution and control of projects in compliance with defined schedule and cost targets for new real estate projects.
• Provide commercial support for negotiation and preparation of external leases and commercial guidance in specific accounting.
• Set up project activities in SAP, including accurate budget and forecast on a timely basis.
• Analyze and monitor targeted finance results (Gross Cost, Free Cashflow, Profit, and Capex) and review, align, and communicate to local, business, and Hub management.
• Perform financial analysis regarding trends, assets, cash, and liabilities.
• Support identification and implementation of savings measures and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.

What You Bring

• Knowledge of real estate specific and lease accounting issues such as IFRS 16 and accounting for fixed assets.
• Accounting qualified with significant experience (5 years or more) from a similar controlling role, with previous experience working in a numerical or financial environment
• Previous SAP experience is an advantage
• Customer Orientation as the partner to the asset management organization
• The ability to communicate clearly with different levels of partners across the business
• Ability to adapt and learn new skills
• Initiative, proactive, and a team player
• English speaking required; Danish speaking would be an advantage
