The Financial Controller will lead the finance team, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and efficient financial operations across a rapidly growing, acquisitive business. They will also oversee M&A integration, provide strategic insights, and support the company's goal to become a market leader.

The client is a fast-growing, acquisitive business in the manufacturing sector, targeting multiple acquisitions per year to become a leading industry player.

Description
  • Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance and capability.
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual).
  • Manage statutory accounts, year-end audits, and compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Oversee M&A accounting, post-acquisition integration, and financial due diligence.
  • Review P&L performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls, policies, and operational processes.
  • Manage treasury, cashflow, tax, VAT, and compliance reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting, systems, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with 5+ years post-qualified experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, FRS102, statutory accounts, and audit.
  • Experience in M&A accounting, post-acquisition integration, and financial controls.
  • Proven leadership and team development experience.
  • Analytical, strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic business.
