Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our LKQ UK finance team. This role will provide accounting support for LKQ UK legal entities and standalone reporting divisions. You will be responsible for month-end postings, variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of management account packs and group disclosure packs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reconciling Intercompany Accounts: Match and reconcile transactions between different company entities, ensuring balances are accurate and discrepancies are fully investigated and resolved.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly accounts for smaller subsidiary entities and standalone divisions, including intercompany reconciliation and elimination submissions to support group consolidation.
  • Statutory Accounts: Prepare statutory financial statements and provide support during external audits.
  • Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant regulations, contributing to a robust control environment.
  • Transfer Pricing: Support the tax team with transfer pricing arrangements and intercompany loan agreements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of intercompany accounting processes.
Skills and Experience
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Proven experience preparing full sets of management accounts for a legal entity under FRS 102.
  • Experience working with external audits and responding to audit requests to tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with non-finance colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across the organisation.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
