Job summary

A leading retail group in the UK is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to manage IFRS16 databases, assist with audit preparations, and prepare statutory accounts. Ideal candidates will hold an ACA or ACCA qualification and possess strong accounting knowledge along with excellent communication skills. Job description

The Financial Accountant will deliver on the following key roles and responsibilities:

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update the IFRS16 database (Innervisions) on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Post monthly IFRS 16 journals in all ledgers across the group.
  • Update IFRS16 monthly notes in statutory format.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Act as key contact for the group and any local audit teams, responsible for managing the overall process and ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Assist in preparing and updating any technical accounting memos.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit documentation and responding to audit queries.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for trading, dormant, and international entities.
  • Submit statutory accounts to Companies House across the group (UK).
Qualifications
  • ACA or ACCA, ideally with experience in professional services.
  • Experience with IFRS and UK GAAP statutory accounts.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and influence stakeholders.
  • Pro‑active, systematic and process driven, with the ability to multi‑task with ease.
