Senior Commercial Finance Manager – Hertfordshire (Hybrid) – 12‑Month Fixed Term Contract. Up to £100 K.

An established, fast‑growing consumer‑led organization is seeking an experienced finance leader to support a critical phase of commercial expansion. The role sits at the heart of customer and marketing decision‑making, combining strategic insight with hands‑on financial leadership. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping shape investment decisions through robust analysis, clear storytelling, and forward‑looking forecasts. Managing and developing a small team, you’ll also contribute to broader initiatives designed to improve performance, governance, and ways of working.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the lead finance partner to customer‑facing and marketing functions, delivering clear returns analysis from customer investment and growth initiatives.
  • Take full ownership of marketing spend, including budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Deliver insight‑led performance reporting to support commercial decisions.
  • Translate complex financial outcomes into clear, actionable messages for non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Own forecasting and strategic input across delivery income and subscription‑style revenue streams.
  • Support monthly reviews and planning cycles alongside FP&A and data analytics teams.
  • Lead, coach, and develop senior finance talent and early‑career professionals.
  • Contribute to cross‑functional projects and continuous improvement activity.
Candidate Profile
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with solid post‑qualification experience.
  • Background in retail, FMCG, e‑commerce or similar data‑intensive environments.
  • Demonstrable experience managing large investment budgets.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability.
  • Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
  • Collaborative leader with a practical, solutions‑oriented mindset.
