Job description

Finance & Royalties Accountant - Ceremony of Roses

Ceremony of Roses UK & Probity form the UK & European merchandise arm for Sony Music UK and the global Sony Music merchandise group, Ceremony of Roses. This role, along with four other members of the finance team, services the operations of both companies, contributing to their growth and success. You will work closely with the business to develop an in-depth understanding of the merchandise process across all channels.

We are seeking a talented Financial Accountant to assist in preparing & reporting artist royalty statements across all revenue channels (E-commerce, Retail, Licensing & Touring) for UK merchandise companies, Ceremony of Roses & Probity. You will build strong relationships with the business and gain a deep understanding of the performance and operations of these fast-growing companies.

What you'll do:

As the primary contact for UK merchandise artist royalty reporting, you will prepare client-facing royalty statements quarterly and after artist tours. Once approved, you will manage their distribution and ensure timely follow-up for invoicing and payments.

Key responsibilities:
  • Deliver royalty statements to artists according to contractual deadlines
  • Maintain an organized database of royalty statement schedules
  • Review artist contracts for accurate royalty accounting
  • Conduct analytical reviews to identify financial irregularities and resolve them
  • Coordinate with international affiliates for royalty settlement reporting
  • Respond to ad hoc requests, including provisional royalty statements
  • Build relationships with internal teams for accurate reporting
  • Touring Profit Share Calculations
  • Retail & Licensing Quarterly Statements
  • E-commerce Quarterly Statements
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations
Other Responsibilities:
  • Assist with revenue recognition for retail & licensing
  • Liaise with AP & AR teams for client requests and ledger monitoring
  • Support statutory audits
  • Assist with E-Commerce sales & costs month-end tasks
  • Provide admin support for systems such as B pack, Concur, SAP, and cash allocation
