A finance firm in the City of London seeks a qualified accountant to provide expert financial advice for local government services. The successful candidate will manage a team, oversee financial reporting, and develop strategic financial plans. Candidates must possess a CCAB or CIMA certification and have recent experience in local government finance. This role requires regular office attendance for key meetings and decision-making processes.
Candidates must have recent local government experience in Environment and Communities or Place finance teams. This is essential and requires substantial experience of supporting the Environment and Communities Service areas in a local authority. Candidates must be fully qualified accountants (CCAB or CIMA). A DBS check will be obtained for this role.
The role reports to the Head of Finance and is the finance lead supporting these service areas, while overseeing a team of 5 staff. There is an expectation to be in the office on a regular basis to meet business needs, including attendance at key departmental meetings. Given the seniority of the role, candidates are expected to be fully qualified accountants, or at final stage with an expectation to be fully qualified within 6 months of joining.
