Job description

Connected Search Group is exclusively partnering with a leading Sheffield-based technology consultancy undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation. With a reputation for delivering complex digital solutions, exceptional client experience and a genuinely progressive culture, this business is now looking to appoint a Finance Manager to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and help shape the future of the function.

This is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where finance is viewed as a strategic enabler, not just a back-office function. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering financial insight, driving operational improvements and building a robust finance environment that supports continued expansion across both the UK and US.

Our client is open to considering both full-time and part-time candidates (minimum 3 days per week), making this an excellent opportunity for someone seeking genuine flexibility while still playing a pivotal role in a high-impact, scaling environment.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information, while ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day finance activities. Reporting directly to the COO, you will have genuine influence over systems, processes, controls and ongoing improvements across the function.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee day-to-day finance activity, including SL, PL, expenses and general ledger bookkeeping.
  • Manage customer invoicing, supplier payments and aged debtor/creditor control.
  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts to agreed deadlines.
  • Deliver improved management information for both the UK site and Group stakeholders.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets).
  • Maintain strong cost control discipline across the business.
Cash Management
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations.
  • Lead weekly cashflow forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Support Group cash calls and weekly cash sweep requirements.
Group Reporting & International Support
  • Liaise with Group Finance teams for consolidated reporting, budgeting and submissions.
  • Provide finance administration for the US sister company, including bookkeeping and transactional support.
Compliance, Controls & Year-End
  • Strengthen financial systems, processes and internal controls, identifying opportunities for automation.
  • Manage year-end accounts preparation and support the external audit process.
  • Submit VAT returns and HMRC filings accurately and on time.
  • Liaise directly with HMRC regarding queries, investigations or compliance matters.
  • Support statutory reporting, including P11Ds and PSA activity.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Manage the annual budgeting cycle.
  • Partner with department heads to improve financial visibility and accountability.
  • Monitor performance vs budget, highlighting risks, trends and opportunities.
People Management
  • Line-manage and develop a Junior Finance Administrator.
  • Support the development of a strong internal finance culture as the function grows.
