Location: Warwick/Hybrid

Duration: 3 months (possible extension)

Pay Rate: £500 per day via umbrella inside IR35

The role

We're looking for a passionate Finance Business Partner to join our Offshore Projects team to work hand in hand with Strategic Infrastructure business who are responsible for delivering the biggest upgrade to electricity infrastructure. These projects will together enable offshore wind to deliver substantial decarbonisation of our energy system. This is a new business unit which presents an exciting opportunity to build innovative solutions and create new ways of working.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the SI Offshore project teams to provide independent review and challenge on key financial matters, including budget setting, forecasting and performance management. Attend Project Boards / Project Review Meetings as a subject matter expert.
  • Lead on key initiatives within the FBP team as we look to embed new processes and controls to improve our financial management as the investment levels increase.
  • Liaise with other teams to effectively communicate matters relating to the Offshore portfolio, including Investment Accountants, PMO, Commercial, Regulation, Risk and Financial Control.
  • Independently solve problems and management priorities – the role of an FBP will vary month to month to adapt to competing priorities as they arise.
  • Bring clarity to complex commercial scenarios. Considering both commercial and business risks and broader strategic imperatives.
Requirements
  • A Qualified Accountant with post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc).
  • Experience operating as a finance business partner working on a large scale complex investment project and comfort balancing support for the business to focus on what really matters for financial performance with challenging conversations when needed to deliver that performance.
  • Resilience, ability to focus on the right thing within the context operated in.
  • Demonstration of both financial and business leadership behaviours to ensure the business can deliver at a minimum against all expected outcomes.
  • Commercial mindset and strong stakeholder management enabling trusted working relationships.
  • Relationship building skills; key part of the role will be forming relationships to get things done.
  • Engaged and engaging individual capable of leading people and playing a team role, ensuring the right engagement to deliver desired outcome.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with implemented improvements that are effective and sustainable, with stakeholder buy‑in.
