Job summary

A leading educational institution in Sheffield is seeking a Finance Assistant to support financial operations, maintain accurate records, and assist with reporting tasks. The ideal candidate will have an accountancy or financial qualification equivalent to AAT and experience with ledgers and bank reconciliations. Finance Assistant

Required from : January 2026

Contract term : Fixed term contract, initial term 6 months

Hours : Full time, full year

Salary : £27,171 - £30,720

Role Overview

We are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to support the financial operations of the school by processing day‑to‑day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting the Finance Manager with standard reporting tasks. The role follows established procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with GDST financial policies.

Sheffield Girls' is part of a cluster group of four schools within the GDST. The Finance Teams work in close co‑operation, and the Finance Assistant will be expected to support the other schools as required.

The person

The successful candidate will have a accountancy or financial qualification equivalent to AAT with experience of purchase, sales and general ledgers, and bank reconcilations. You will have experience in a team environment. You will be accurate with attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively.
