Job Title: Finance Analyst

Location: Edinburgh

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Salary: £26,000-30,000

AJ Connect is thrilled to be representing a global aviation company to appointment a Finance Analyst

The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide the European fuels and UK&I Cargo company with financial analysis, assistance, and control.

This is a hands-on position that involves corporate partnerships and tight collaboration with operations. It will be included in the month-end, forecasting, flash, and budget phases of the internal financial reporting cycle. In addition, the job will support the external reporting cycle by giving clients and stakeholders the necessary financial reports and analyses.

It is also expected that the role will provide management with valuable insights into financial drivers within the fuels business aiding decision making and helping to improve the business performance.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expertise to ensure robust financial control and planning for the business units
  • Maintaining the financial oversight for the business units
  • Complete month end process for multiple locations in finance systems according to reporting deadlines.
  • Assist with preparation of weekly flash, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
  • Analysis of location financials and KPIs using SUN and Hyperion systems.
  • Identification of opportunities and risks for airports in the region.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
  • Develop detailed working knowledge of key Aviation systems - billing, rostering, labour, expense and purchasing, to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Proactively engage with station and divisional management to enhance understanding of their respective financials and assisting in optimising financial performance.
  • Weekly business review calls with management and sites ensuring key financial areas are monitored and variances challenged.
  • Monthly preparation of customer reporting, engaging in review calls with sites and leading internal review calls.
  • Generate and present a range of financial and ad hoc reports for use by both internal and external customers.
  • Assist with the smooth integration of new start-up operations into financial reporting processes, ensuring adoption of robust financial controls.
  • Assist with pricing proposals for new customers and preparation of capex papers.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis.

  • Demonstrable experience within financial roles.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to influence, challenge and implement change.
  • Hands-on practical approach to providing guidance and direction in a challenging and dynamic business environment.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined and with exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines and prioritise multiple workloads.
  • High Level of Integrity.

  • Ability to confidently communicate with internal and external stakeholders at a senior level
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
