We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join our dynamic Finance Team. You will work closely with the Finance Business Partners (FBP) to provide crucial analytical support that forms the foundation of the assistance given to practice groups and sectors. The role involves delivering high‑quality financial information and analysis in a consistent and interpretable format, aiding decision‑making and supporting the firm’s financial objectives. The Finance Analyst will assist in producing regular reporting packs, pricing requests, commercial training and providing ad‑hoc analysis to the business.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with your line manager (FBP) to deliver robust financial business partnering to UK practice groups and sectors, aiming to enhance financial performance. This includes preparation work for management meetings and presentations.
  • Provide high‑quality analytical support for long‑term business planning, annual budgets, and monthly forecasts for assigned practice groups and sectors.
  • Ensure all month‑end close activities are completed on time, including the monthly management information packs with insightful, action‑based commentary. Identify areas to create efficiencies in monthly processes and add additional insights where possible.
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant fee‑earning and business services stakeholders to assist in achieving the firm’s strategic objectives.
  • Support quarterly sector meetings by ensuring the required information is provided, including ad‑hoc analysis and management information packs for sector leaders.
  • Support the administration of the firm’s pricing policy by providing pricing analysis and support to partners and the Bids team. Ensure our pricing support tracking system is kept updated.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Business Partners to drive profitability improvement by supporting Client Relationship Partners with client profitability deep dives.
  • Participate in the delivery of commercial awareness training to fee earners and business services.
  • Support on firm‑wide tactical objectives to increase productivity and profitability, including supporting lead FBPs by investigating large data sets and extracting insights and trends.
  • Investigate and resolve financial queries from the business in a timely manner.
  • Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis, client reporting, and project support as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience working as a finance analyst.
  • Part‑qualified or looking to pursue a professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
  • Excellent numeracy and problem‑solving skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including a robust understanding of formulas and large dataset manipulation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work effectively within a team or independently.
