Field Service Garage Equipment Engineer

Location: Field Based around Essex and throughout the surrounding area

Salary: £, - £, per annum plus overtime

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

About us: Gemco UK is the largest garage equipment company in the country providing repair, maintenance, installation and sales solutions to a range of fast fit centres, dealerships, independent garages and commercial fleet operators.

About the role: As a home‑based Field Service Engineer covering Essex and surrounding areas, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing a wide range of electro‑mechanical garage equipment at customers' sites. This will include lifts and brake testers and previous experience of this type of equipment would be particularly useful.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance on electro‑mechanical garage equipment
  • Calibrations, diagnostic / repair and installation on equipment including vehicle lifts, wheel & tyre, brake testers, gas analysers and smoke testers
  • Completion and submission of accurate paperwork
  • Compliance and adherence to laws and regulations covering Health and Safety within the workplace
  • Ensuring control of your van stock to meet targets for first‑time fixes
  • The continued development of required skills to complete all work to a high standard
About you / Qualifications
  • At least one year working on relevant equipment in a similar position
  • Good working knowledge and experience of activities in a field service environment, ideally including garage equipment or similar
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures and work instructions, working to specified standards and using initiative when required
  • Self‑motivated, "can do" attitude to deliver high‑quality service to customers
  • Good communication skills – dealing with colleagues and customers at all levels
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Demonstrable experience or relevant trade qualifications in a related electro / mechanical discipline
  • Ability to work paid overtime when required, or occasional nights away from home (hotels and food provided)
