Field Service Engineer-CCTV, Access Control & Security Systems

Location: Manchester
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Travel: Regional travel with occasional overnight stays required
Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading security systems integrator delivering advanced electronic security solutions across the UK. This is a field-based position covering Stoke, Leeds, and Manchester, working on a wide range of CCTV, Access Control, Perimeter Detection, and Integrated Security Systems for commercial, public sector, and critical infrastructure clients. You'll be responsible for maintenance, fault-finding, servicing, and reactive repairs on large-scale, high-end integrated systems, ensuring our clients' sites remain secure, compliant, and operational. This role offers a varied workload, exposure to the latest security technologies, and opportunities for training and career progression within a growing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive service calls on CCTV, Access Control, Intruder, and Security Systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults across analogue, IP, and network-based security systems.
  • Service and maintain equipment including DVRs, NVRs, network switches, and control room systems.
  • Provide technical support for perimeter intrusion detection, gates, and barrier systems.
  • Complete service reports, update job management systems, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Deliver an excellent standard of customer service and communication at all times.
  • Participate in the on-call rota and work flexibly, including occasional nights away.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, Security Systems Engineer, or CCTV Engineer.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CCTV systems (analogue and IP), Access Control systems (multi-site and site mustering), and Intruder Alarm Systems.
  • Understanding of Networking and IP configuration.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electronic security faults on-site.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and customer-facing skills.
