Time Appointments are working on behalf of a market-leading engineering business, who are looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to join their growing team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll play a vital part in keeping critical machinery up and running through on-site fault diagnosis, repairs, and hydraulic component replacement. Not only will you be responsible for delivering high-quality repairs, but you'll also help strengthen the company's local presence, building trusted relationships with customers and supporting projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, practical role and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver fast, high-quality on-site repairs and replacements, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
  • Accurately log jobs, parts, and updates using the Simpro app.
  • Maintain professional standards at all times, with a clean, well-equipped van and excellent customer service.
  • Support business growth by building relationships with local customers, distributing catalogues/leaflets, and ensuring the company is front of mind.
  • Work towards agreed KPIs including job numbers, average job value, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure health & safety is prioritised at all times, completing Risk Assessments and following site rules.
  • Manage van stock efficiently, keeping it fully equipped and compliant with stock checks.
  • Provide feedback to support process improvements, audits, and quality management systems.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • A strong basic education with good English and Maths skills.
  • Ideally 2+ years' experience in hydraulic hose repair, though broader mechanical/engineering backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Confidence using IT systems, mobile apps, and digital tools.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
