Job summary

A leading technology company in Basingstoke seeks a Field Applications Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will provide design support and applications expertise while identifying business opportunities. A minimum of 5 years in the electronics industry, ideally in a design role, is required. Overview

The Role: As a Field Applications Engineer (FAE), you will be the technical bridge between customers, distribution partners, and our internal teams. You will provide design-in support, deliver applications expertise, and secure new business opportunities through strong customer engagement. Your work will directly contribute to driving design wins, expanding our customer base, and supporting the continued growth of TechPoint Golledge within the wider TechPoint Group.

Responsibilities
  • Provide applications support to customers and internal teams, leading to new design wins and increased sales.
  • Conduct frequent visits to OEMs, design houses and key accounts to identify opportunities and strengthen relationships.
  • Work closely with sales and distribution partners to proactively pursue new business opportunities and support/train with applications knowledge / engineering and product expertise.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product training, and demonstrations to both customers and internal colleagues.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of TechPoint's products and their applications.
  • Assist with resolving technical and quality issues, including cross-referencing and product recommendations.
  • Stay informed on customer application requirements, relevant standards, and industry developments. Provide support to Product Line Management so that our product roadmap is aligned to our customer's needs.
  • Capture market intelligence and feed insights into CRM systems, product strategy, and business planning.
  • Build strong working relationships across internal departments to support customer requirements.
  • Strong technical understanding of electronic product design, embedded systems, semiconductors, RF, sensors, or related technologies.
  • Proven ability to engage with engineers and technical decision-makers at customers and design houses.
Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, self-motivation, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • BSc in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years' experience in the electronics industry, ideally within a design role.
