Job description
Overview

Location : Eastleigh

Part-time permanent support worker role with 21 hours per week, plus bank shifts to cover absences. Typical shifts are 7 hours long; timings are 7.30am-2.30pm and 2.00pm-9.00pm, Monday to Sunday. Pay: Weekdays £15.74 per hour; Weekends £18.08 per hour.

Interviews will take place in January 2026. Start date: ASAP (subject to satisfactory employment checks).

Responsibilities
  • Provide support and care to Corina, ensuring safety and physical wellbeing.
  • Facilitate Corina’s independence using approaches tailored to her personality and mental health needs, alongside her medication.
  • Assist with weekly hydrotherapy in the future.
  • Collaborate with a psychologist to establish and monitor the approach needed to meet Corina’s needs, maintain consistency, minimise agitation, and respond effectively to prevent anxiety and extreme behaviour escalation.
  • Work as part of the team to maintain stability for Corina within her home; participate in team meetings and communication through the Team Leader.
  • Maintain a patient, empathetic, calm, and compassionate approach when engaging with Corina, including when communication challenges arise.
Qualifications & Experience

Essential: Experience in working with adults with brain injury who can present with physically challenging behaviour.

Desirable: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in care, basic IT skills, and an interest in therapy.

Requirements & Working Details
  • Location: Eastleigh.
  • Shifts: typical 7 hours; 7.30am-2.30pm and 2.00pm-9.00pm; Monday–Sunday.
  • Bank shifts to cover absences of current team.
  • Driving: Desirable; Client uses a VW Transporter Wheelchair Adapted Van (manual). Support will be provided using own vehicle for work purposes? Yes, on duty and to attend meetings/training.
  • Essential checks: Proof of eligibility to work in the UK; satisfactory references (including last employer); enhanced DBS certificate.
