Family Support Worker
Setting: Family Assessment Centre
Location: Worcestershire
Salary: £28,000

A values-driven organisation is seeking dedicated Family Support Workers to join a team committed to making a lasting difference in the lives of families and young people.

Role

Family Support Workers play a vital role in supporting parents to meet the physical and emotional needs of their children. Working 12.5-hour shifts across both days and nights, you will observe parent-child interactions and provide sensitive, non-judgemental feedback tailored to each family\'s unique circumstances. Through encouragement and role modelling, you will help empower parents to build stronger, healthier relationships with their children.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate, objective records to inform parenting assessments, which may be submitted as evidence to Family Court.
  • Apply a trauma-informed approach using the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) in daily practice.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with families to support meaningful engagement.
  • Signpost families to additional support services related to mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse.
What We\'re Looking For
  • Passionate individuals with experience working with children and families.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build rapport.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Applicants from diverse professional backgrounds are welcome - transferable skills are highly valued.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
Shift Pattern
  • 13 shifts over a 4-week period (6 nights / 7 days)
  • Includes alternate weekends
  • Day shifts: 8:00am - 8:30pm | Night shifts: 8:00pm - 8:30am
