As a Family Court Advisor, you will be pivotal in shaping the futures of children involved in court proceedings. Here is what you will do:

Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and directly engage with children to understand and represent their views and wishes to the court, ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Use expertise in robust risk assessment and mediation to advocate for arrangements that prioritise the best interest of the children, making their well-being your primary focus.
  • Work independently and manage your workload effectively by being organised and resilient, ensuring that each case receives the attention it requires.
  • Collaborate closely with court colleagues and families to promote the best outcomes for children, sharing insights and information to support informed decisions.
  • Travel locally as needed to meet with children, families, and court officials, providing support and expertise wherever you are needed most.

Who we’re looking for:

  • A relevant Social Work qualification is essential, equipping you with the foundational knowledge needed for success in this role.
  • You must be registered with the Social Work England regulator to ensure that you meet the highest standards of practice.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children and families as a qualified children’s social worker will position you as a trusted advisor.
  • Experience in Family Court proceedings and an understanding of Public Law and WAFH (Work After First Hearing) is essential for effective practice.
  • Having frontline and court experience enables you to handle cases with confidence and competence.
