The Recipe (About the Role)

The main focus of this position is to lead the daily oversight of quality and food safety within our manufacturing facility. You will play a crucial role in ensuring strict compliance with the Weetabix Standard for Food Safety and the Weetabix Quality Management System (WQMS), all while meeting the British Retail Consrtium, legal, and customer requirements.

  • Drive results to achieve the Quality & Food Safety Strategy.
  • Build and sustain a proactive Food Safety Culture; monitor and share best practices.
  • Lead quality improvement through RCA, corrective actions, and Food Safety Initiatives.
  • Act as deputy for the Cluster Technical Manager.
  • Lead WSFS, BRC, and Retailer audits; manage internal audit programme and non-conformance responses.
  • Quality Owner for capital projects and lead minor projects.
  • Manage food safety incidents, including timelines and corrective actions.
  • Oversee factory hygiene, including inspections and pest control management.
  • Address daily quality issues, making necessary recommendations.
  • Manage complaint investigations, including trending and corrective actions.
  • Ensure Food Safety and Compliance with legal and customer requirements.
  • Coach teams on quality and food safety standards according to company procedures.
  • Develop and implement new procedures with stakeholders.
  • Manage equipment calibration.
  • Represent the quality function in plant MOS meetings.
  • Support factory trials to maintain Quality & Food Safety.
Key Know How
  • Technical and quality background with experience in food safety and compliance.
  • Proven experience of driving quality/continuous improvement.
  • Good working knowledge of HACCP, BRC, Auditing, Microbiology, Allergen and Pest Management.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience & understanding of Quality Management in a food environment.
