Role: Facilities Maintenance Electrician

📅 Employment type: Permanent - Full-Time

💵 Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 DOE + Company benefits

📍 Location: Blackburn, Lancashire

⏲️ Working hours: 4 day working week Monday - Thursday 37hrs standard

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Facilities Maintenance Electrician to join a fast-paced, highly regulated industrial environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient running of site facilities, systems and equipment.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering both reactive and planned mechanical & electrical maintenance, ensuring maximum uptime of plant and equipment. Working across a wide variety of building services—including HVAC, electrical systems, lighting, power, plumbing and ventilation—you'll help keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and building services
  • Execute planned preventive maintenance (PPM) across facilities, systems and equipment
  • Diagnose faults, identify root causes and complete repairs with minimal downtime
  • Install, commission and test new plant, systems and infrastructure
  • Coordinate and oversee external contractors and specialist service providers
  • Maintain accurate records including service logs, permits, risk assessments and calibration data
  • Support environmental and energy-efficiency initiatives around the site
  • Ensure all work meets health, safety, environmental and statutory standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability-driven projects
  • Collaborate with production, operations and other site teams to plan maintenance
  • Provide support for emergency or out-of-hours issues when required
The Candidate

Essential qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electrical, mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • BS#removed#th Edition Wiring Regulations

Experience:

  • Proven background in facilities maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong fault-finding skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communicator with good teamwork abilities
  • Able to organise and manage your own workload
  • Flexible, proactive and hands-on approach
  • Positive “can-do” attitude

Desirable:

  • Experience within aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries
  • Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH)
