Qualifications

Kingston Barnes has an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing and dynamic manufacturing business in Bristol, producing high-spec, precision sheet metal components. We are seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder to support ongoing demand and contribute to the delivery of bespoke, high-quality work.

You will be based at the Bristol facility, working on complex steel fabrications to exacting standards. The role combines hands-on fabrication with high-quality welding. Work will include fillet and butt welds, both full and partial penetration, across a range of steel grades and thicknesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacture sheet metal items using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
  • Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
  • Accurately measure and mark materials.
  • Cut, bend, and form metal using various sheet metal machines.
  • Assemble and join components using welding, soldering, or bolting.
  • Finish products through grinding, filing, cleaning, and polishing.
  • Identify and repair faults or damaged components.
  • Maintain high standards of quality while meeting deadlines.
About you
  • Time-served fabricator/welder with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in MIG/MAG welding within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
  • Strong understanding of welding procedures, preheat, and temperature control.
  • Ability to work independently while also taking direction when required.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and prioritising workload.
  • Keen to learn, develop, and support others.
