Job description
Overview

SKILLED FABRICATOR - ENGINEERED FABRICATION

£45,000+ achievable | £16 / hr + regular overtime | January start

This is a proper fabricator role, not a production welding job.

Our client is a long-established, family‑run engineering business manufacturing engineered stillages and material‑handling equipment for regulated industries (defence, nuclear, aerospace, heavy manufacturing).

The work is precise, engineered fabrication – not repetitive welding and not site work.

If you can fabricate from drawings, work accurately in medium‑section steel, and take pride in getting things right first time, you'll fit in with them.

Work
  • Fabricating engineered steel frames and assemblies
  • Working from fabrication drawings (essential)
  • MIG welding, fit‑up, tack, fabricate, finish
  • Typical material thickness around 5mm (with variation depending on design)
  • Bespoke and short‑run work – not production line welding
What They’re Looking For
  • A genuine fabricator, not just someone running welds
  • Confident reading and working from drawings
  • Experience in fabrication where accuracy matters
  • Able to work at pace and take responsibility for your own bay
  • Pride in fit‑up, alignment, and finish – they don't cut corners
Pay & Hours

£16 per hour basic (£33,280 per year)

Regular overtime available – typically 10 hours per week

Overtime paid properly

Realistic earnings ~£880 per week / £45,000+ per year

Overtime is available and paid – not promised and then cancelled.

Why Fabricators Stay
  • Family‑run business – treated as a person, not a number
  • Steady, long‑term workload
  • Organised shop with clear drawings and processes
  • Engineered work you can be proud of
  • Overtime for those who want it
  • Straight‑talking management – no nonsense
  • Many Fabricators have been there for years.
