Job description

My client is a market leader in their field and are looking for a Fabricator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
  • Assemble steel components using hand‑held tools and equipment.
  • Understand and work to client specifications.
  • Operate an overhead crane and use safe slinging and lifting techniques to assist fabrications.
  • Work to SAM quality procedures.
  • Assists in the training and development of SAM apprentices.
Qualifications
  • Formal Sheetmetal/fabrication apprenticeship.
  • Experience of MIG welding.
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
  • Able to work to SAM quality procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Keeping work area clean and tidy and can demonstrate ability to work within the 5S philosophy.
  • Willingness to take direction from supervisors and follow that direction.
  • Self‑starter and able to take the initiative when not working under direct supervision.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents such as drawings.
  • Ability to prioritise, meet targets and achieve deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and develop self and apprentices.
