Do you enjoy helping others and want to make a difference in people's daily lives? We have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team as an Extra Care Assistant at Maes Y Mor Extra Care Scheme in Aberystwyth. This dual‑role opportunity gives you the chance to work as a Catering Assistant or Cleaner, depending on the needs of the scheme. Whilst the position supports both areas, you will not be expected to do both jobs at the same time. This is a part‑time role at 12 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • As a Catering Assistant:
    • Assisting with meal preparation and service for residents.
    • Helping with setting up and clearing the dining area.
    • Supporting residents with meal choices and ensuring a welcoming dining experience.
    • Following food hygiene and safety standards.
  • As a Cleaner:
    • Carrying out routine cleaning of communal areas such as lounges, dining rooms, and bathrooms.
    • Following cleaning schedules and infection control procedures.
    • Ensuring a safe, tidy, and pleasant environment for residents and visitors.
  • In both roles, you will also:
    • Follow health & safety and safeguarding policies.
    • Report any issues or concerns to the team leader or manager.
    • Be a friendly and reassuring presence for residents.

  • Flexible and willing to support either catering or cleaning tasks.
  • Comfortable interacting with residents in a positive and respectful way.
