JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: External Quality Assurer - Security

Reports to: Senior Manager, Security and Protective Services

Contract: Full time | Salary: £35k | Location: Midlands

JOB PURPOSE

Our client seeks an External Quality Assurer to ensure SIA-linked qualifications are delivered to the highest standards. The role ensures that all Approved Centres meet requirements set by our client, OFQUAL, and the SIA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance of Approved Centres delivering SIA-linked qualifications.
  • Carry out on-site audits to review delivery, assessment, and administration practices.
  • Sample learner evidence to confirm competence and public-safety standards.
  • Produce clear reports with findings and improvement recommendations.
  • Provide expert support on compliance, assessment practice, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with internal teams to improve qualification delivery and assessment.
  • Support malpractice investigations and events for Security Centres.
  • Attend joint visits with third-party bodies such as the SIA when required.
  • Maintain sector competence through CPD and participate in standardisation activities.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties to support effective operations.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Comply with all health and safety requirements.
  • Safeguard and properly use any equipment provided by our client.
  • Keep knowledge current regarding legislation, procedures, and best practice.
  • Participate in appraisals and training as required.
