Job summary

A leading energy solutions provider is looking for an External Hazards Lead. This role involves developing the external hazards safety case for Small Modular Reactors and assessing potential sites for their suitability. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering, Maths, or Physics and strong knowledge of safety case development and UK regulatory processes. Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of external hazards and safety case development.
  • Experience with UK civil nuclear regulatory regime (or similar).
  • Background in Nuclear Power Plant design.

Responsibilities

  • Own, develop, and maintain the external hazards safety case programme.
  • Prepare submissions for the E3S Case and GDA projects.
  • Lead and develop a team of up to 10 direct reports.
  • Represent the project at internal reviews and external regulatory meetings.
  • Assess candidate sites for SMR power stations with respect to external hazards.
  • Undertake deterministic analysis to support licensing efforts.
  • Mentor and train team members.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams under tight deadlines

Education

Degree in Engineering, Maths, Physics, or equivalent experience
