Job Title: Experienced Building Surveyor

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: Circa £55,000

About the company

A well‑established property consultancy is seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join their professional team, specialising in commercial properties. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in building pathology, condition surveys, defect analysis, and report writing, with a working understanding of fire risk assessments. This role requires a self‑motivated and collaborative individual with excellent client management and communication skills.

The company undertakes a significant proportion of its work on the MOD Estate, therefore experience in this area would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates must hold a clean driving licence and have no criminal record. A DBS check and BPSS clearance will be mandatory, with higher security clearances required as necessary to access the MOD estate. This is a full‑time position offering some flexibility in working hours to support work‑life balance. Regular travel to site locations is required, and applicants must be prepared to provide their own vehicle. Office‑based collaboration will be important to ensure effective communication across departments and project teams.
