Basic Salary up to £42K Plus Excellent Benefits

This is a new and exciting opportunity to work for leading Global Insurance company with offices throughout the UK.

Our insurer client is seeking an experienced Trading P&C Underwriter to work from their city centre offices in either Glasgow or Perth, and to join them to be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business within the company.

They offer hybrid working which is 50% home and 50% office based.

This role would be dealing with existing business.

The successful applicants will be accountable for day-to-day underwriting activities and will also be using data insight to ensure we are providing whole customer solutions. Your role will include dealing end to end with brokers and customers whilst collaborating with the team to support both the lead trading underwriter and team managers in achieving our growth ambition.

You will also be expected to embrace and understand strategy to be an active mobile underwriter, working professionally and effectively wherever you are located.

There will also be opportunities to work towards underwriting licence levels as appropriate to your job grade.

Skills and experience they are looking for are:

• Experience within Trading/Commercial underwriting is preferred but not essential
• Excellent communication, listening, time management and negotiating skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a large complex organisation
• ACII qualifications or working towards
• Good knowledge of the FCA rules and other relevant regulation and legislation
• Ability to analyse risks, communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers.
