A prestigious music institution in Greater London seeks an Executive Officer (Philanthropy) to support its Advancement team. In this role, you will help produce proposals for donor support and coordinate logistical aspects of fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate has strong administrative skills and a passion for music and the arts, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience managing donor databases.
The Royal Academy of Music is a creative and vibrant workplace with a diverse mix of students and staff from over 60 countries. Many of the world’s leading musicians and performers have studied with us and we are firmly focused on developing tomorrow’s musical leaders across several disciplines, including classical performance, composition, opera, jazz, and musical theatre. Integral to the musical training we offer is the opportunity to perform; in an average year, the Academy runs a vibrant programme of around 500 events.
Philanthropy plays a significant role in the life of the Academy and supports our mission to develop and educate the musicians of tomorrow. The Royal Academy of Music’s Future campaign was launched in 2022 with a target of £60m, making it the most ambitious campaign for a conservatoire outside the US. Having exceeded that target, we extended the Campaign to £100 million.
We are seeking an effective and organised Executive Officer (Philanthropy)to play a key role within the Academy’s dynamic and successful Advancement team. You will provide direct support to the Deputy Principal (Advancement), Director of Philanthropy and Deputy Director of Philanthropy, working to produce high-value proposals for support, draft high-level correspondence, maintain donor and gift records, and support donor meetings and visits. You will also perform a coordination role for the High Value Giving team, updating and maintaining fundraising resources, providing logistical support where needed and liaising with other teams in the Philanthropy department to ensure High Value Giving fundraisers have what they need to fundraise.
You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bringing strong administrative, organisational, and prioritisation skills to the table. Proficiency inMicrosoft Officeand experience managingCRM or donor database systemsare essential. Just as important are your excellent communication skills and your ability to passionately convey the Academy’s mission to current and prospective supporters.
Experience inarts or higher education fundraisingis highly desirable, as is a genuine interest inmusic and the arts.
