Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Executive Assistant or in a senior administrative role ideally within a political or public sector environment.
  • Outstanding organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
  • Ability to cope with pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Political awareness and understanding of local government operations is desirable.
  • Ability to work outside office hours when required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for the Leader and Deputy leader managing communications with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Manage complex diaries and prepare briefing papers to support decision-making.
  • Ensure smooth information flow between the Leaders office and senior officers.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential matters with integrity.
  • Support strategic projects and monitor progress against key council objectives.
  • Proactively resolve issues to enable the Leader to focus on strategic priorities.
