Job summary

A leading education company in the UK is looking for a GCSE Religious Studies Examiner to mark candidates’ responses accurately and consistently. This role requires a high level of subject knowledge and experience in the relevant qualification subject. Applicants should be qualified teachers with at least one year's teaching experience within the last eight years. Training occurs from May to June, with marking conducted between May and July. This position allows for remote marking and offers a supportive work environment.

Job description

A GCSE Religious Studies B (2016 Specification) Examiner marks candidates’ responses in accordance with the pre-defined mark scheme, whilst adhering to conditions of recognition and examination procedures. Most subjects will be marked onscreen using ePEN, which can be done from home. A few subjects are still marked in the traditional method, using paper scripts sent through the post. A high level of subject knowledge is necessary in order to apply the mark scheme. Each examiner will receive an agreed allocation of scripts.

Although we welcome applications for all religions, we have a particular shortage in the following:

• Islam

Additional information

• The marking period is between May - July.
• The training required to mark as an examiner will take place between May and June.
