A local educational institution in Hove is seeking examination invigilators to support the structured running of exams and assessments. The role is vital in helping students perform during stressful periods. Applicants must be available for a minimum of 2 mornings per week during peak exam times from May to mid-July. Experience is not required as training will be provided. Must adhere to safeguarding commitments, including a full DBS clearance.

Job description

Examination invigilators are required to join our Exams Team at Blatchington Mill School. This is a popular and successful school with high expectations of our students’ achievements at exams.

This is a key role in maintaining a structured and calm procedure for the exams and assessments, the role of invigilators is important to supporting our students to fulfill their potential and to cope with what can be a stressful time.

These contracts are paid on a claims basis and there are regular periods of work throughout the year with a peak in the summer term from May to mid-July. Invigilators need to be available to work a minimum of 2 mornings per week during this peak period.

Hours are typically for a morning session from 8.00am until 11.30am and/or for an afternoon session from 12.30pm to 3.00pm.

These roles are very important for the calm and organised running of the exams throughout the school. The invigilators are required to work as part of a team in the main examination halls or in smaller venues around the school. The role is to ensure that the examinations are carried out according to the JCQ rules and regulations and training will be given to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
