Job description
Overview

We are recruiting for an Event Technician to deliver event technical support for a medical science client's event spaces and meeting rooms for a three‑month fixed term. The object of this role is to ensure that the event spaces are properly set up and run, and that the equipment is working, and end users (where applicable) are familiar and confident with the equipment they are using to ensure we provide an exceptional service to our clients. Whilst there are regular duties to be undertaken, the demands upon the role and team can be unpredictable, often with tight deadlines. Flexibility in working hours is essential, especially when helping out with client events, which may extend into the evening. The role and team deliver a demanding calendar of corporate events, maintaining the quality and standard of the client's experience. Playing a key part in all aspects of AV in relation to client events, from pre‑planning, identifying technical requirements, attending meetings in an advisory capacity, and event execution. You will also be required to provide support for client meetings. Hours of support: The supplier‑assigned client‑directed resource shall adhere to 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some flexibility based on demand. The team member will also observe the client’s holiday schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Panasonic AW-UE150 PTZ cameras, joystick controllers, and auto‑tracking servers for single and multi‑camera events.
  • Manage Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD8 production switchers for live mixing.
  • Configure and operate Datapath VisionSC, WallControl, and Planar DirectLight Pro LED walls.
  • Operate video playback systems, confidence monitors, and projection/display setups (Sony projectors, Sharp displays).
  • Integrate video feeds into UC platforms (Cisco Webex Room Kit Pro, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) and streaming systems.
  • Pre‑event setup, live execution, and post‑event takedown.
  • Collaboration with the auditorium lead, freelancers, and client stakeholders.
  • Preventative maintenance on AV systems and documentation of all configurations and troubleshooting steps.
  • Cross‑coverage for support during absence or concurrent events.
Event Prep & Wrap
  • Load and cue video content, lower thirds, and graphics packages.
  • Perform pre‑event camera framing, lighting adjustments, and switcher routing.
  • Ensure recordings are captured and archived properly post‑event.
Secondary / Cross‑Training
  • Provide basic audio mixing support when required.
  • Assist in wireless mic setup and DSP routing adjustments in Q‑SYS.
Qualifications
  • 35 years in live video production, broadcast, or high‑end AV event environments.
  • Proficiency in multi‑camera switching and LED wall control.
  • Familiarity with video‑over‑IP workflows and Q‑SYS NV Series endpoints.
  • Ability to troubleshoot video latency, sync, and resolution issues in real time.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a collaborative atmosphere.
