The Glasgow Marriott Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and customer-focused Event Executive to join our dynamic team.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing event and group enquiries from initial contact to execution, ensuring a seamless handover to operations and maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction. You will coordinate all aspects of event planning, liaising with multiple departments to deliver memorable experiences while maximising revenue and driving repeat business.





Key Responsibilities

Manage and convert assigned event and group enquiries from start to finish.

Coordinate all client requirements, confirming event details verbally and in writing.

Plan menus, meeting room layouts, audio-visual requirements, and banquet service standards.

Use hotel systems to ensure booking accuracy and consistency.

Sell within the agreed event and group strategy, aligning with Marriott brand standards.

Maximise revenue through up-selling and effective space/room inventory management.

Conduct engaging site visits and show rounds to win business.

Build and maintain strong relationships with event bookers and repeat clients.

Lead pre- and post-event meetings to review requirements and gather feedback.

Resolve client concerns professionally and ensure guest satisfaction at every stage.



About You

We’re looking for a proactive, organised, and detail-oriented team player with:

Previous experience in events, hospitality, or travel and tourism.

Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills.

Strong relationship management and customer service abilities.

Good knowledge of meetings and event management processes.

Understanding of menu planning, banquet service, and event technology.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel booking systems.

Ability to problem-solve and make effective decisions under pressure.
