Do you understand the European political and policy landscape and do you want to influence it on some of the most important topics of our time? We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience influencing or taking part in policy processes within or around the EU or an EU Member State.
Sitting within the Advocacy, Insights and Mobilisation team at 89up, our EU team works on campaigns and projects that set out to influence EU policy or European citizens more widely. We combine skills within traditional public affairs and policy analysis with communications tactics, such as press and digital, to build strong campaigns that influence policymakers both directly and indirectly.
We have worked on influencing everything from a landmark anti-deforestation law to how the EU should renovate its buildings for better energy efficiency. We guide our clients in how to speak to different political stakeholders within the EU, as well as how to communicate complicated policy issues to the general public.
In this role you could be diving deep into analysis of amendments of a specific legislation one day, convening a strategy and communications workshop for a range of stakeholders on the next, and liaising with senior officials at the European Parliament or Commission on the third. Your projects will be varied, and we expect you to not be afraid of challenging yourself to become a well-versed EU campaigner.
