We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator from a Civil Engineering background to join our client based at their Swindon Head Office.

Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for estimating all project lifecycle stages, including concept, study, and detailed design.
• Prepare comprehensive bids and tender submissions within required deadlines.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, overheads, and subcontractor services for all projects.
• Conduct take-offs and quantity surveys from drawings, calculating material and labour costs.
• Produce subcontractor enquiry schedules, obtaining suggestions/feedback from the tender team, procurement department, and contractor schedules.
• Prepare full project estimates from conceptual design and generate estimate reports.
• Foster internal and external relationships with staff, clients, engineers, stakeholders, and attend meetings.
• Conduct ongoing market research on current costs of materials, rates, and industry trends; negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.

Requirements:

• Engineering degree desirable / certification or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years Estimator experience.
• Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.
• Civil engineering project experience.
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel.
• Highly organized with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, strategic, and able to multitask.
• Integrity to handle confidential information.
• Previous experience in Rail is preferred.
