Job Title

Roofing & Cladding Estimator

Salary

£40,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

UK (office-based with some flexibility, depending on project needs)

Overview

Our client is a well-established specialist contractor operating within the roofing and cladding sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Roofing & Cladding Estimator to join their commercial team and support the successful delivery of projects across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with strong technical knowledge of roofing and cladding systems to play a key role in tendering, cost planning, and commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for roofing and cladding projects
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Carry out detailed material take-offs and labour assessments
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
• Assess project risks and value‑engineering opportunities
• Work closely with the commercial and operations teams to ensure smooth handover of secured projects
• Support bid submissions and attend pre‑ and post‑tender meetings where required
• Maintain pricing databases and cost benchmarks

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as an Estimator within roofing and cladding
• Strong knowledge of cladding systems, roofing packages, and associated materials
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel

Desirable

• Experience working for a specialist subcontractor
• Knowledge of both traditional and modern roofing/cladding systems
• Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously
