About the Company

An established and growing design & build fit-out contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their Birmingham-based team. The business specialises in delivering high-quality commercial interiors, workplace refurbishments and Cat A / Cat B fit-outs across a wide range of sectors. With a reputation for excellence, collaboration and innovative delivery, the company combines creativity with commercial precision — ensuring every project exceeds client expectations.

About the Role

As an Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the business’s pre-construction function, responsible for producing accurate and competitive tenders that align with client briefs and company objectives. This position will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced, design-led environment and enjoys working collaboratively across disciplines.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for Cat A and Cat B fit-out projects, refurbishments and associated works.
  • Analysing drawings, specifications and client information to identify scope, risks, and opportunities for value engineering.
  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and build accurate cost models.
  • Working closely with design, commercial and delivery teams to ensure continuity and accuracy through all project stages.
  • Presenting cost breakdowns, tender clarifications and recommendations to senior management and clients.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of estimating systems, databases and benchmarking processes.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within commercial fit-out, refurbishment or design & build environments.
  • Strong understanding of Cat A / Cat B projects, including workplace and office interiors.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documents accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
  • A collaborative team player who can liaise effectively with designers, project managers, and external partners.
  • Ideally located within commuting distance of Birmingham and surrounding areas.
