Job description

An excellent opportunity for an Estimator has become available to join a reputable Construction Company based in Aberdeen. Reporting to the Estimating Manager you will be responsible for preparing, producing and submitting tenders for Commercial and Residential projects. You will be joining a company who are winning regular contracts which looks to continue into the future.

Main Duties

• Prepare and submit competitive tenders.
• Obtain materials and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare take offs from tender documents received.
• Organise and track market price of equipment, material and construction costs.
• Review tender documentation, in order to prepare accurate cost estimation.
• Prepare handover documentation for successful projects and attend internal pre-start meetings.
• Attend tender adjudication meetings and tender interviews where required.
• Support/mentor/train Estimating team members as assigned.
• Supervise work of Estimating team members as assigned.
• Provide cover for the Estimating Manager in his/her absence.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines.

Essential Qualifications

• Experience in an Estimating role within the construction industry.
• Competent working on projects ranging between 50k to 20million.
• Demonstrate knowledge of bills of quantities including method of measurement.
• Demonstrate excellent numerical skills to calculate costs.
• Strong time management skills.
• Demonstrate in depth knowledge of budget control.
