Job description

Job Description: Our well established client a Heavy Engineering Manufacturer are currently recruiting for an Estimating and Planning Engineer . The role will suit candidates with Machining and Forging experience with a time served apprenticeship or an engineering graduate. You must be willing to undertake technical and/or commercial training as part of the role and agreed development need. Hours: Mon-Thurs 7.30 am to 4pm or 8.30 am to 5pm. Friday finish half hour earlier. Salary £30k p.a. The role will support delivery of the company's sales plan set quality, delivery and cost performance criteria. Deliver KPI's and support their improvement to achieve repeatability and profitability of product supplied.

Responsibilities
  • Support delivery of company sales strategy and maintain, develop and encourage regular contact with established & prospective customers.
  • Work closely with the Business Development & Marketing department.
  • Input customer feedback into CRM and support project management of contracts working alongside the production departments.
  • Prepare, submit quotations by way of timely and accurate estimates liaising with subcontractors to obtain external pricing and lead‑times.
  • Creation of purchase orders for external work and perform contract reviews to implement any routing change requests, including "lessons learnt" activities.
  • Production of manufacturing drawings and investigation of variance to standard routes.
  • Attend meetings and/or deputise as directed.
  • Consulting with the customer to give the most accurate feedback regarding pricing and on time delivery.
