Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to manage the reliability of building maintenance and engineering infrastructure. The role involves guiding Estates operatives to ensure compliance with legislation and managing upkeep of grounds. Key responsibilities include planning maintenance activities and co-ordinating safety and quality of work. Required qualifications include a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and significant experience in a similar role. This position is based in Bognor Regis and may require participation in an on-call rota.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a similar role.
• Experience of using computers.
• Mentoring role experience and training programme experience in a hospital/healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and balance scheduled maintenance activities with responsive repair services.
• Deputise for the Estates Engineering Manager when required.
• Co‑ordinate with Estates operatives to ensure safety, compliance and quality of work.
• Participate in the Estates out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.

Diagnose faults and effect repairs to electrical plant and equipment

Good written and verbal communication skills

Highly skilled in the use of hand and powered tools

Fundamental IT skills and time-management skills

Education

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
