Job summary

A leading healthcare institution in Liverpool is seeking an Estates Officer to join their team at the Royal Liverpool Hospital. The successful candidate will provide administrative support and supervise maintenance staff, ensuring effective resource management and health and safety compliance. Required qualifications include an HND in Engineering or Management and line management experience in a building services environment. This role offers a permanent contract with a competitive salary range from £31,049 to £37,796 annually.

Qualifications

  • Line management experience in a building services environment, managing delegated staff and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and effective administrative and technical support to the Estate Maintenance Department.
  • Supervise and coordinate a group of multi-skilled maintenance staff and other trades.
  • Plan and use labour and financial resources effectively.
  • Promote a positive culture regarding health and safety.
  • Monitor performance, standards and audit completed works conducted by staff.
  • Supervise maintenance and/or minor works schemes and activities.
  • Allocate labour to planned preventative maintenance and/or minor works schemes.
  • Resolve complex faults on building services systems.

Skills

Knowledge of health and safety legislation and statutory obligations for Estates operations
Good oral, written and presentation skills
Ability to analyse spreadsheets and spend/performance data
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Prioritise work and cope with competing demands
Analytical IT and computer skills

Education

HND or equivalent (Engineering or Management)
