Job description
ERP Data Management Specialist

The ERP Data Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate manufacturing data in the company's ERP system, with a particular focus on Bills of Materials (BOMs), operation sequences, cycle times, outside processing details, and related configuration data. This role ensures that production information is complete, consistent, and optimised to support efficient assembly, material planning, costing, and scheduling activities.

You will work in the Production Engineering team but collaborate with R&D, Quality and Procurement to ensure seamless translation of product designs into accurate and manufacturable ERP data.

Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain and version‑control Bills of Materials for complex assemblies and sub‑assemblies.
  • Ensure BOM structures accurately reflect engineering intent and support efficient assembly workflows. Work with oversight from R&D to confirm changes to the BOM.
  • Maintain operation sequences, routing data, and cycle times within the ERP system.
  • Set up and maintain data for outside processing (lead times, supplier operations, costing inputs, etc.).
ERP Data Integrity
  • Drive data accuracy and completeness across manufacturing‑related fields (part metadata, units of measure, costing categories, revision levels, etc.).
  • Ensure proper configuration control and alignment with engineering documentation.
  • Support the development and enforcement of ERP data standards and best practices.
Continuous Improvement & Support
  • Identify opportunities to streamline ERP data structures and improve manufacturing workflows.
  • Assist in resolving ERP data issues impacting planning, production, or procurement.
Essential Qualifications
  • Experience managing manufacturing data in an ERP environment (BOMs, routings, cycle times, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of production and assembly processes (preferably electromechanical assemblies).
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Desirable
  • Experience in a low‑volume, high‑complexity manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of Infor Syteline ERP system is preferable.
  • No specific qualifications are required; however education to A-level or equivalent vocational level in a relevant subject demonstrating strong math, IT and analytical skills would be desirable.
