Job description

Manchester: Competitive

Equipment Engineer required for a rapidly expanding wafer Fab. The role is to expedite fast and effective equipment repair using all the expertise available, analysing metrics in order to reduce future breakdowns and implementing /executing cost effective maintenance programs.

The role is a days/nights, (4 day on - 4 day off), rotating shift pattern, you will have an area of specialism assigned within the FAB supporting a particularly critical tool. The asset value in the FAB is currently in excess of £35M.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively maintain and repair wafer processing equipment and diagnose the root cause of complex problems.
  • Document and implement cost effective maintenance programs by analysing, improving and inventing ‘key performance indicators’.
  • Effective spares stock control and housekeeping practices.
  • Make effective contributions to cross-functional improvement teams.
  • Continually work to keep technical competence of self and colleagues up to date.
  • Observe health and safety directives and departmental procedures.
  • Assist the shift leader in the day-to-day planning of preventative maintenance activities.
  • Control and advise the use of external suppliers.
