A leading waste management company in the UK is seeking an Environmental Technician to maintain the Bletchley Landfill Site. Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar environment is an advantage.

Environmental Technician

Salary: £31,235 - £39,044 per annum, Hours: 40 hours per week, 8am to 5pm, Location & Postcode: Bletchley Landfill Site, MK3 5JU

As an Environmental Technician at FCC Environment, you will help maintain and operate the Bletchley Landfill Site in accordance with all relevant permits, planning permissions, and company policies. You’ll play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance and supporting the safe, efficient running of the site.

This vacancy is for a full‑time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
  • Carrying out assigned tasks and duties safely, following all safety rules and procedures
  • Reporting unsafe practices, accidents, or near‑misses to your supervisor
  • Using and maintaining tools, equipment, and PPE correctly
  • Supporting the Supervisor in the safe and efficient operation of the site
  • Maintaining required standards as set out in site permits and planning consent
  • Communicating effectively with staff, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
  • Promoting and enforcing safe working practices on site
  • Recording and reporting any breaches of rules or incidents
  • Attending monthly meetings and participating in ongoing training
What are we looking for?
  • Previous experience in a similar environment is an advantage
  • Ideally, a tractor licence
  • Completion of relevant Competency Management System modules and required training
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • A strong focus on health and safety
  • A practical, can‑do attitude and willingness to help complete tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative
  • Respectful, honest, and fair approach to working with others
  • Flexibility
