Job description

Environmental Health Practitioner needed in St Albans

The rate is £27.37ph PAYE

This is a temporary role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out annual food hygiene inspections across Category C, D, E, and selected unrated premises, ensuring that all activities are conducted in line with statutory food safety regulations and the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS).

They will accurately record inspection findings using the client’s proforma, provide a handwritten report and FHRS sticker to the Food Business Operator, and clearly communicate compliance requirements to those responsible for food safety. Where premises achieve a rating below 3, the candidate will issue a formal report letter with a detailed schedule of necessary improvements, supporting businesses to raise standards and meet regulatory expectations.
