Job description

Our local authority client, based in Gloucestershire are looking for a qualified Environmental Health Officer with private sector housing experience available immediately to cover a vacancy within the team on a temporary basis for 3 months. Our clients are looking for someone who has the skills and experience to work to bring long term empty properties back into use, ensure compliance with MEES regulations and carry out our duties in relation to landlords and tenants to ensure improvements to the private rented sector. The work will involve investigating complaints including Damp and mould, disrepair, rats and rubbish. Experience of administering Disabled Facilities Grants and use of the Uniform system would be welcome. Please note, the client has stated whilst some work can be undertaken remotely, this is a front line role which will require the candidate to be within one hours journey of the District at least 3 days a week to enable site work to be undertaken.

In order to be considered, it is essential that you have at least 3 years experience of working within this field, your CV must demonstrate local authority experience. You must also hold the HHSRS certificate.

As mentioned, this is an initial 3 month contract as it is covering long term sickness so the contract may be extended. Pay rates will be up to £45.
